Skardu Fort – Also known as Kharpocho Fort, this historic fort sits atop a hill, offering a panoramic view of the Skardu Valley and Indus River. The fort’s ancient structure and scenic location make it a fascinating visit. The history dates back to the 16th Century when it was used to overlook the town, the last battle it saw was the Kashmir Battle in 1948.
Satpara Lake – A vital freshwater lake, Satpara is located just a few kilometers from Skardu city. Boating in the pristine blue waters while enjoying the surrounding mountains is an experience you won’t forget. A 20-minute drive by jeep can take you to Satpara lake, beautifully surrounded by the glacier mountains and a fairytale island right in the middle.
Shangrila Resort & Lower Kachura Lake – Known as “Heaven on Earth,” Shangrila Resort is one of Skardu’s most iconic destinations. The picturesque Lower Kachura Lake, with its crystal-clear waters and lush greenery, makes it a perfect spot for relaxation and photography. Shangrila Lake is another attraction you can visit by an hour’s drive from Skardu. Locals call it the “Kachura Lake”. In Spring, many exotic and colorful flowers bloom on the banks.

Deosai National Park – Famous as the “Land of Giants,” Deosai National Park is the world’s second-highest plateau. Home to diverse wildlife, including the Himalayan brown bear, the vast meadows covered with wildflowers in summer create an unforgettable sight.
